Keeping things Simple.
Our Simple Plan is designed for people who really aren't going to drive that much. They pay a simple hourly - or daily rate when they drive, and get 150 km free with each trip. If they drive more than that on their trip, they're charged 25¢/km. And, to help us cover administration costs, we charge a $35 Annual Fee once a year, starting a full year after they've joined.

Choose the plan that fits your lifestyle.
You can drive as much or as little as you like in any plan, and switch between plans whenever you want to (starting the new plan on the 1st of the next month). FYI The average "speed" our members drive is about 10 km/hr. That means that the distance charge usually adds about $2/hr

AutoShare is a Membership-based service.
To join AutoShare there is a one-time Membership Fee ($100 + GST). For couples living together, we offer a discounted Joint Membership Fee of $150 + GST total. If you choose to pay your invoice monthly (rather than after each trip), there is also a $250 deposit per account. (Pay-as-you-drive is $0 deposit. See here for full details.)

Our "30-day Trial Period" means that you can get a full refund (Membership Fee + GST + Deposit) if you quit within 30 days of your Application. (The Application Fee is non-refundable.) For more info, please see our Join FAQ

We now have Minivans, Mini Coopers & other premium cars.
AutoShare provides a full range of vehicles to members. In some cases, like our Minivans and Mini Coopers, this requires a small premium to cover the extra costs of the vehicle purchase, operation, insurance or parking (usually about $1 per hour).

We can provide you with a Letter of Insurance Coverage from our insurance company certifying your coverage history with AutoShare - which can save your $1,000's if you ever need to get personal auto insurance in the future.

Offset your Carbon Emissions.

Gas @ $0.95 / litre
AutoShare's rates are based on an average fuel cost of $0.95 / litre (which was typical in 2007, the last time our prices were adjusted, and now seem typical again). To avoid constantly changing our rates simply due to fluctuations in the price of fuel, we add a small credit or surcharge to each kilometre travelled based on the average price paid by members for gas in that month (and our fleet's average consumption of 10 litres/100km). eg gas prices in November 2008 averaged about $0.85/litre - $0.10 below the baseline of $0.95 - and there was a $0.01/km credit for driving that month.

PST + GST apply
All of our rates are subject to GST & PST, except the Monthly Plan & Annual fees (GST-only).
